Primary School

Where learning comes to life

Primary School at The Global School is a key stage in students’ development. It is the time when they not only consolidate academic skills, but also develop their curiosity, self-confidence, and the way they relate to others.

Our program seeks a balance between academic quality, social-emotional education, personal development, and values-based formation, supporting each student in their holistic growth.

Full school day

Hours: 07:50 am to 04:30 pm

The curricular program integrates traditional academic subjects with learning spaces organized by fields of knowledge. Throughout the day, students experience learning in both Spanish and English, fostering a natural and meaningful acquisition of the second language in everyday learning situations.

Specialized learning areas

Art

Art occupies a central place in school life, offering students diverse pathways for expression, creativity, and collaborative work. Through music, choir, and instrumental ensembles, students develop artistic sensitivity and listening skills. In art classes, they explore works inspired by different creators and techniques, while Drama strengthens physical and theatrical expression in English, culminating in a meaningful, community-wide performance: our Annual Concert.

School Garden

Garden work takes place weekly and is fully integrated with Natural Sciences. Students learn about environmental care, develop social skills, and take part in hands-on, interdisciplinary projects.

Mindfulness & Personal and Social Education (PSE)

This dedicated space promotes socio-emotional development. Students learn to recognize their emotions, practice self-regulation, resolve conflicts, and build healthy relationships, directly impacting their overall well-being and the school's social climate.

Digital Mathematics (Matific)

We use the Matific platform, which offers mathematical activities and challenges in a gamified format. Students progress through levels, take part in friendly challenges, and can continue practicing at home.

Technology, Coding, and Robotics

Guided by a specialist teacher, students engage in robotics experiences integrated into classroom projects through the Be Tech program.

Physical Education, Sports and Camps

Classes take place at Club San Carlos facilities and follow an age-appropriate progression:

Nivel Enfoque
Primary 1 and 2 Psychomotor skills, coordination, and pre-sport games.
Primary 3 and 4 Sport initiation and technical development.
Primary 5 and 6 Sports with tactics, strategy, and teamwork.

Starting in Primary 3, students practice sports such as hockey, football, handball, and softball, and participate in inter-school competitions.

The flagship event is TGS Play, where all students participate in their respective House teams, accumulating points throughout the year.

Annual camps are also held, combining physical activity, community living, and social-emotional education.

The Global School

TGS Discover Project: learning by doing

One of the most distinctive projects is TGS Discover, focused on developing entrepreneurial thinking in upper primary (Primary 4, 5, and 6).

Students take part in three workshops:

Houses System

Students are sorted into Houses that accompany them throughout their entire school journey. They take part in challenges, sporting activities, and collaborative initiatives that strengthen their sense of belonging.

Personalized education and heterogeneous classes

We work from a personalized education perspective, supporting each student throughout their school journey. The School Guidance Team maintains a close relationship with families and supports learning processes, acknowledging the diversity within groups so that every student can develop their potential at their own pace.

Device Use

Primary School is a phone-free environment. From P4 onwards, students integrate tablets or laptops into their learning, using them exclusively for educational purposes and always under teacher supervision.
